The group trip to Uganda is perfect for solo travelers aged 20 to 39 with a decent fitness level and an adventurous mindset. During the trip, we will mostly sleep in hostels, eco-lodges, or safari tents. So expect no unnecessary luxury, but unique and authentic experiences instead!

Flights

For this edition, we only offer round-trip flights from Brussels – Zaventem. The airport is easily accessible by public transport and has an underground train station.

Required documents

To travel to Uganda, you will need the following documents:

  • an international passport, valid for at least 6 months after arrival
  • A visa, which you can apply for here *

Vaccinations

For your trip to Uganda, it is mandatory to get vaccinated against yellow fever at least 10 days before your departure. A Hepatitis A vaccination  is recommended for all travelers. Other vaccinations may be advised by your general practitioner. So make sure to schedule a travel consultation in advance.

Who is this group trip for?

How much does the group trip to Uganda cost?

You can secure your Uganda adventure for €1850 (excluding flight).

What vaccinations do I need for my trip to Uganda?

Before your trip to Uganda, it's important to have the right vaccinations. It is mandatory for all travelers to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever. Additionally, it's recommended to get the Hepatitis A vaccination  and an extra polio vaccination.

Other vaccinations may be recommended by your doctor, depending on your medical history. So make sure to schedule a travel consultation with your doctor in advance.

What about food?

Breakfast is provided at each accommodation. You'll need to arrange lunch and dinner on your own. On average, you can manage with a budget of about €10 per day per person.

What kind of luggage should I bring?

We recommend going for a hiking backpack (around 60 liters). You'll be changing your sleeping spot almost every day, so a backpack is super handy when we need to move around. It's best not to bring large/hard suitcases (max 20kg), especially for your own comfort in the car.

It's also a good idea to have a smaller daypack (around 30 liters) where you can store your valuables, like your camera, wallet, rain jacket, down jacket, water bottle, and so on...

Do I need a passport?

As a resident of the European Union, you indeed need an international passport as well as a visa. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival in Uganda. You can apply for the visa here, but we'll definitely send you an email with all the relevant information after you book.

How do I get to Uganda?

To make your trip go as smoothly as possible, we offer round-trip flights from Brussels (Zaventem). You can find the exact flight times above, in the practical information section.

The airport is easily accessible by public transport and has an underground train station. The flights perfectly align with the travel schedule. The transfer between the airport and the hotel in Uganda is included in the price.

How big is the group?

Where will I sleep?

You’ll stay in comfy beds in (nature) lodges, safari tents, and guesthouses. The accommodations are simple but always very clean, with hot water available. The trip is based on bed & breakfast, with breakfast always included.

Do you know in advance who your travel companions are?

About a month before departure, we'll add you to a WhatsApp group with your fellow travelers and WeCaptain. Here, you can get to know each other, exchange tips, ask questions, and maybe even arrange to carpool. Feel free to organize something to meet up before the trip as well!
