From this green city, you'll drive towards Kampala, the current vibrant capital of Uganda.

Kampala is often referred to as “the city of seven hills.” Once built on seven hills, like the historic Kasubi Hill, where you'll find the impressive Kasubi Royal Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the burial place of the kings of the Buganda kingdom. The city now stretches far beyond these hills, but its rich history still gives Kampala its unique charm.

Fully immerse yourself with a local lunch and a visit to Tukulu Eco Village, where everything revolves around giving back. Enjoy a unique coffee experience and learn all about Uganda's rich coffee culture.

Then travel to Jinja, the adventurous city on the banks of the mighty Nile.

Along the way, you can make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can go in search of the white rhino.

We continue our journey via the town of Masindi and the famous Luwero Triangle, heading towards the impressive Murchison Falls National Park.

The last stop of the day is at the top of the falls, where you can admire the incredible power of the Nile. Here, the river squeezes through a narrow gorge that’s just 6 meters wide, after which the water thunders down 40 meters.

In the evening, you can relax with a drink and a refreshing dip to end the day.

Today we have a long journey ahead as we leave Murchison Falls National Park through the West Gate and drive south towards Hoima.

We continue our way along the Albertine Escarpment of the Great Western Rift Valley, passing through the colorful Fort Portal, the vibrant capital of the Toro kingdom.

Fort Portal is beautifully situated in the shadow of the legendary Rwenzori, also known as the "Mountains of the Moon." Eventually, we will arrive in the vicinity of Kibale Forest National Park.

In the morning, the Chimpanzee Trek begins, offering a unique opportunity to observe these intelligent primates in their natural habitat. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you'll venture into the forest in search of one of the many chimpanzee families that live here. As you walk through the dense greenery, you'll hear their calls in the distance. Once found, you'll have the chance to closely observe their social interactions and playful behavior.

In addition to chimpanzees, Kibale is home to various other monkey species, colorful birds, and unique plants, making this trek an unforgettable experience for nature lovers.

After a final morning among the primates of Kibale Forest, we head south towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. The route first takes us to Fort Portal, a lively town at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains, where you can stretch your legs or enjoy a cup of local coffee.

Along the way, we’ll make a photo stop at the equator, a special moment to literally stand between the northern and southern hemispheres. As the landscape gradually shifts from dense rainforest to open savanna, we approach the wildlife-rich Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here, crater lakes, grasslands, and the first safaris of your journey await.

You’ll spend the night in Queen Elizabeth National Park on the shores of the Kazinga Channel. You can also choose to go in search of the Big Five in the park in the evening.

In the morning, you can go on a safari, hopefully with a new chance to spot some of the Big 5.

After lunch at the lodge and some time to recharge, you'll head to the Kazinga Channel. On board a boat, you'll cruise along the shores to see hippos up close, spot pink pelicans, and admire various other bird species.

A full day where you'll have plenty of opportunities to experience the rich wildlife up close!

Today features a long but adventurous ride heading towards the southern Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This area is known for its vast savannas and the chance to spot wildlife such as topis, oribis, and buffaloes. With a bit of luck, you might even see the famous tree-climbing lions, which often rest in the fig trees during the hottest hours of the day.

Along the way, you'll make a stop in a charming local village for a simple "on the go" lunch, giving you the chance to experience the daily life of the local community up close.

After Ishasha, the road winds further south towards the hilly region of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The drive takes you through rolling tea plantations, misty valleys, and picturesque villages, a preview of the unique, mysterious landscape that awaits you in Bwindi.

One of the most impressive experiences in Uganda awaits you in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest: a meeting with the rare mountain gorillas. The day starts early with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority, where you'll get an overview of the rules and the tracking process. After that, you'll venture into the dense jungle with experienced guides, searching for one of the gorilla families that live in this vast forest.

The trek can take several hours and requires a reasonable level of fitness, as the terrain can sometimes be steep and muddy. Once you arrive at the gorillas, you'll have time to observe their behavior and take photos. This unique moment, so close to these magnificent animals in their natural habitat, is a definite highlight of your trip.

Prefer a more laid-back day? Then you can relax at the lodge and enjoy the beautiful nature surrounding Bwindi.

Upon arriving at Lake Mburo National Park, the landscape changes once again: expansive grasslands, acacia forests, and wetlands create a habitat for zebras, impalas, warthogs, and elands, among others. Thanks to the park's compact nature, you can actively explore it, by bike or on foot, with a guide. It's the perfect way to wrap up the day in a park that often remains surprisingly tranquil.

You have one last chance to go on a safari in Lake Mburo National Park. You might spot a few animals that are still on your list, and with a bit of luck, even the full Big Five! It's a lovely way to wrap up your adventure in the wild.

After this morning safari, you'll head back to Kampala via the Kampala-Mbarara highway, a vital lifeline for the country. Along the way, you'll see the landscape gradually change: from savannas and open plains to more populated areas and vibrant villages. Once you arrive in Kampala, you'll return the car.

Our shuttle will take you to the airport for your return flight.
