Contact us!

During your roadtrip, you will be provided with a 4×4 with automatic transmission.

     </details>
          Exactly how much you spend will, of course, always vary a little, but we expect that you will spend about ± €500 per car on petrol/gasoline for the total trip.

     </details>
          Upon your arrival in Uganda, you will be met by our local partners. They will welcome you and provide a brief briefing before you begin your road trip. Our partners are always available during the trip should you encounter any issues with the car along the way.

Additionally, you can find all kinds of useful information in our app during your journey. Just before departure, you will also receive an invitation to join a WhatsApp group with all participants departing on the same date. You can use this group to communicate with each other, and a member of our team will always be available in case of an emergency.

     </details>
          Accidents can happen when you least expect them, which is why we recommend adding damage insurance to your registration. This insurance costs €10 per day per car. By selecting this insurance, you do not have to pay a deposit.

If you choose not to take the damage insurance, you must pay a security deposit of €750 before departure.

     </details>
          Below we have listed an estimate of the driving distances. Please note that in practice, these may vary depending on traffic, road conditions, breaks, weather, and any sightseeing stops along the way. The times indicated are average travel times and are subject to change.

Yes, during the booking process, you can indicate whether you wish to drive yourself or if you would prefer to travel with a driver. For an additional fee of €630, a driver will take the wheel for you. He will travel with you, and his overnight accommodations will be arranged along the way.

Your driver will speak English and know the area inside out. He will transport you safely from one destination to the next, often sharing interesting facts, making spontaneous stops, and offering tips that give your trip that little something extra.

     </details>

     More information about the lodges can be found on our seperate page.

     </details>
          If you choose to travel with lodges, you will have a bathroom en-suite.

     </details>
          Every lodge features an on-site restaurant, so after a long day of adventure, you can always enjoy a delicious meal. If you choose the lodge accommodation option, your breakfast is also included.

WiFi is generally available, mostly in the public areas.

     </details>

     If you choose a car with a rooftop tent, the following items are included:

Sleeping gear: A double mattress, sleeping bags, and pillows.

Camping gear: A camping table, stools, a cool box (non-electric), a table lamp, a shovel, and a jerrycan for water.

Cooking equipment: A cooking pot, pan, gas stove, plates, and cups.

     </details>
          No, if you choose a rooftop tent, you will not be able to use the pop-up roof during safaris.

     </details>
          The campsites are almost always located on the grounds of the lodges. This offers the experience of camping, with the lodge’s facilities within easy reach.

Sanitary Facilities & Dining: You will have access to shared bathrooms with toilets and showers. Additionally, you can make use of the lodge’s restaurant and bar. This means you can choose to cook for yourself at your tent or sit down for a freshly prepared meal.

Electricity: There are usually no power points directly at the campsite itself. however, you can easily charge your devices (phones, cameras) at the central power outlets in the lodge’s common areas.

Our recommendation: Bring a power bank for emergencies. Use a car charger so you can also charge your equipment while driving to your next destination.

     </details>
          On driving days, you will often pass through larger towns where you can stock up on supplies. Additionally, there are frequently local markets along the route where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables. Since the cool box is unfortunately not actively refrigerated, we recommend buying groceries as you go. Of course, non-perishable products can be purchased in advance. This can be done at the start of your trip, for example in Kampala or Jinja.

     </details>

     Unfortunately, it is not possible to book the gorilla or chimpanzee trekking after your initial booking. Because there are a limited number of permits available for these activities, we need to know if you wish to include them at the time of your registration.

     </details>
          During your trip, you will visit the following national parks:

Lake Mburo (1 day)

Murchison Falls National Park (2 days)

Queen Elizabeth National Park (1 or 2 days)

Entrance fees for the national parks must be paid on-site. The costs for these are $40 – $45 per day per person, and $12 per day per car for the national parks. You will also have the opportunity to visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino trekking ($60 per person).

     </details>
          Yes, a self-drive safari is safe, provided you follow the park rules. The most important rules are: always stay inside the vehicle, maintain a safe distance from the animals, stick to the designated roads, and ensure you leave the park before dark.

Within the national parks, you can also choose to head out with a professional guide. For $20 per session (half-day), a guide will join you in your car and take you to the most beautiful spots and the best locations for spotting wildlife. You can arrange a guide at the park entrance.

     </details>
          Yes, there are two stunning boat safaris included as standard in the trip:

Murchison Falls National Park: You will cruise along the Nile toward the foot of the powerful waterfalls. Along the way, you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and countless bird species.

Kazinga Channel (Queen Elizabeth Park): This trip offers one of the highest concentrations of hippos in the world. You also have an excellent chance of seeing buffaloes and elephants seeking refreshment at the water’s edge.

     </details>

     An international passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of travel.

A visa: We will certainly send you an email after booking with all the relevant information regarding this.

Your 4×4
