Documents
  • Passport: an international passport valid for at least 6 months after your travel date.
  • Visa: to visit Uganda, you will need to apply for a visa. You can apply online at the official website. You will receive more information via email a month before departure.
  • Driver’s license: your European driver’s license is valid in Uganda. An international license is not mandatory. You must carry your physical card at all times while driving: digital copies or photos on your phone are not accepted during road checks.
  • Bank card

Tip: Bring cards (e.g., Revolut/Wise, a Visa/Mastercard credit card) and plan to withdraw some cash on-site (UGX) for places where cards aren’t accepted. Don’t forget to activate the “travel” / “international” option in your banking apps.

Note: At higher altitudes (like Bwindi, Kibale and Lake Bunyonyi), nights can get cold. Our sleeping bags are light, so we recommend packing an extra fleece blanket for added warmth.
